Jachin is auditioning for a few different roles in the near future, the first being for a production at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia. He needed new headshots for these auditions. We’ve worked with Jachin in the past when he performed with the Masterworks Theater Arts and the Academie de Ballet. We hope these new headshots bring you great success in your auditions.
Joy is a very talented young actress preparing to audition for Virginia Musical Theatre’s production of “Seussical, The Musical”. I have had the pleasure of seeing Joy in numerous productions including Masterworks Theater Arts performance of Beauty and the Beast. Joy had the lead role of Belle and she was wonderful. Joy needed new headshots for her audition.
Elizabeth is a recent graduate of Regent University’s Theater Arts Program. Her plan is to move to Atlanta soon to pursue an acting career. Like any good actor, she needed professional headshots. She did this even before looking for an agent. Headshots are what gets actors their jobs. It is the first thing a casting director sees.
Lindsey is another beautiful young lady that we have had the pleasure to photograph over the last few years. We have wanted to shoot at this location in the Ocean View section of Norfolk.
Word spread on Facebook that there was a field of sunflowers in full bloom in Smithfield, Virginia. It seems that just about every photographer in the area made the drive to Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield to photograph these flowers. I just had to take my turn there. Jessica Smith is a former intern and assistant photographer with Hampton Roads Photography. We’ve done many shoots together, but not many recently. Grad school, marriage and now, pregnancy has not given her much time to assist or model.
This last session with Jessica developed from her mother’s idea. Christine used her costuming and prop skills to create a dramatically styled portrait of Jessica. Fabric, ribbons, plastic jewels and a liberal application of powder transformed Jessica into a unique character. Christine even created a crown with plastic water bottles. We had a blast creating these images. I can’t wait for Jessica to return from China so that we can do more photo sessions.
Jessica and I have collaborated on many photo shoots. I have known her and her family for over 25 years. Her mother Christine has been an associate photographer with Hampton Roads Photography since 2007. Jessica is a dancer, dance teacher, and model. She has accepted a position with Chesapeake based Veritas Academy to establish a dance program at their new satellite campus in Shanghai, China. She will be heading up a dance program and teach leadership studios in full immersion English classes.
Last month the Academie de Ballet held their annual recital at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on the campus of Norfolk State University. We’ve been photographing their recital for 25 years.
