Jessica Hartsfield – Location Session

Jessica and I have collaborated on many photo shoots. I have known her and her family for over 25 years. Her mother Christine has been an associate photographer with Hampton Roads Photography since 2007. Jessica is a dancer, dance teacher, and model. She has accepted a position with Chesapeake based Veritas Academy to establish a dance program at their new satellite campus in Shanghai, China. She will be heading up a dance program and teach leadership studios in full immersion English classes.

When I learned of Jessica’s plans, I asked her to do at least one more photo session together. We decided on Chippokes Plantation State Park. Chippokes is a working farm located on the James River. As usual, Jessica was beautiful and the perfect model. Traveling to Isle of Wight gives an opportunity to have dinner at our favorite restaurant, the Smithfield Inn. We had to get their special Shrimp and Grits one last time. I doubt she will be able to get grits in Shanghai.

We were able to do one more shoot in our studio using her mother’s talents creating props and costumes. That will be the subject of our next post.
