Last month the Academie de Ballet held their annual recital at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on the campus of Norfolk State University. We’ve been photographing their recital for 25 years.
Olivia and Chris had their beautiful spring wedding at the Yacht Club at Marina Shores in Virginia Beach. The details were impeccable as were the flowers from Black Iris Floral Design. Astro DJ’s provided the entertainment which insured a great night of dancing and fun. Thanks, Olivia and Chris for having us photograph your wedding!

Jaymee and Aaron had their mid-May wedding at the Yacht Club at Marina Shores in the Yacht Club Room. It was a wonderful event with a joining of cultures and families. The bride hand painted table assignments for the guests. The weather was perfect for their wedding and the party was fun for everyone. Jon E. Flex of Astro DJ’s kept everyone on the dance floor, celebrating with Jaymee and Aaron.
The Masterworks Touring Company will soon be introducing their latest production, ISOULation. We met at COLLECTORnorfolk for a video shoot of this dance but began with some posed still photos for marketing purposes. Masterworks Touring Company’s mission is to present the Good News of Jesus Christ through dance, drama and personal testimonies. With excellence and integrity, their vision is to use God-given creativity to give Him glory as we bring restoration and redemption to the arts, cultures and people groups around the world.
We were honored to be able to photograph the wedding of Cyrus and Kyernan at Noah’s Place, a relatively new venue in Chesapeake, Virginia. It was a cold, rainy day but that didn’t diminish the beauty of their event. It was standing room only for the ceremony. They had something that I hadn’t seen before, a foot washing exchange during the ceremony. It was a very touching moment between the two of them. A great party after dinner ended in a surprise snow storm as they left the event.
Angelina and Jeff came to Virginia Beach on March 17th to run in the Shamrock Marathon. They also decided to get married on the beach. They planned their wedding ceremony for sunrise, sharing the event with a few friends. While it may not look like it, it was a very cold morning. The temperature that morning was 27 degrees. Despite that, the sunrise was perfect for their ceremony. No matter how large or small your wedding, we are ready to create beautiful images. It was really an honor to share this special day with Angelina and Jeff.
Now that Kyernan and Cyrus are married, I can post images from her bridal session. Kyernan wanted her bridals photographed in the urban environment of downtown Norfolk. We took advantage of the new and old architecture found in Norfolk. It’s one of our favorite places to photograph. We had to deal with a very bright winter sun and high winds left over from a passing Noreaster storm, Her flower girl and future sister in law Reese joined her for some of the photos. We will be posting some of her wedding photos soon.
