Using Pinterest for your Photo Shoot

Photo shoots are best handled as a collaboration between the photographer and the client. Pinterest has become a very useful tool for inspiration and design of a photo shoot.

The idea for this shoot with Jessica was a dancer in a desert environment. I created a mood board on Pinterest with images of similar shoots. It gave both of us starting point for the images we would be creating.

Since we don’t have a desert in Virginia Beach, the next best location was Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head, North Carolina. Jockey’s Ridge is the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern United States. It may not be a desert, but it sure looked like one. The nearly constant wind helped lift the fabric Jessica was using.
