Jessica has been a long time friend, photographic assistant, and model for us. We were able to photograph her wedding to David about three years ago. Now they are starting a family with their first child. Of course, we were going to provide maternity portraits for them.
If it’s Fall, it’s time to photograph the Bernert family. We have been photographing them nearly every year for 22 years. When we did our first shoot with them, their youngest daughter, Allison, was only two years old. Their son Lawrence had not been born yet.
Abby is a fifteen-year-old student of dance and theater arts. She attends the Academie de Ballet in Chesapeake, Virginia. She plans on auditioning for a school where she can study musical theater. She came to us for a new headshot as part of the application process for this training. As with anyone in the entertainment industry, a headshot is necessary to get noticed and to get work.
The fall is traditionally family portrait season. The autumn colors really enhance family portraits and the cooler temperatures are a plus over the summer heat and humidity. Sarah and Aaron along with their children Peter and Holly met us at Oak Grove Lake Park in Chesapeake. This is a very popular location evidenced by the number of other photographers working there.
We have known Megan for many years. Her daughter has been a dancer with the Masterworks Touring Company and the Academie de Ballet. We’ve photographed her family and most recently we photographed her son Isaac’s senior portraits. Isaac is a remarkable young man. He has Muscular Dystrophy. That disability has not kept him from excelling in school and college. Much credit goes to his mom, Megan.
The Low family are long-time customers and friends of Hampton Roads Photography. We have done senior portraits, actor headshots and performance photos for the actors and dancers in the family. This is the first time that we have been able to photograph the whole family together. It’s obvious from the photos that they are a wonderful, fun-loving family. We had so much fun on this session, and despite the cold, cloudy conditions the images turned out beautifully.
We were approached by some families from a local church to spend an afternoon providing family photographs for their group. The photographer they originally had hired for this canceled on them just a few days before the scheduled sessions. Since some of the family members had planned to come in from out of town, they were left with the possibility that the photo shoot would have to be called off.
Lorraine is preparing for a new career in financial services. She understands the importance of a professional business headshot, especially for social media sites like LinkedIn.
