We recently photographed the Yuen family for Greenbrier Neighbors magazine. We have had the opportunity to photograph families in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake for the last year. Each family is featured in the magazine including a cover photo.
The McCuens recently welcomed the newest addition to their family, Kelsey Ann. Kelsey was born last August and is preparing to celebrate her first Christmas with mom, dad and big sister Aubree.
Most people hire a professional photographer for major life events, high school graduation, engagements, weddings, maternity, and newborn portraits. These events are the stock and trade of most professional photographers. In fact, we photographed Rachel and Allen’s wedding a couple of years ago. However, that doesn’t mean those are the only times to have portraits made.
Jessica has been a long time friend, photographic assistant, and model for us. We were able to photograph her wedding to David about three years ago. Now they are starting a family with their first child. Of course, we were going to provide maternity portraits for them.
If it’s Fall, it’s time to photograph the Bernert family. We have been photographing them nearly every year for 22 years. When we did our first shoot with them, their youngest daughter, Allison, was only two years old. Their son Lawrence had not been born yet.
Abby is a fifteen-year-old student of dance and theater arts. She attends the Academie de Ballet in Chesapeake, Virginia. She plans on auditioning for a school where she can study musical theater. She came to us for a new headshot as part of the application process for this training. As with anyone in the entertainment industry, a headshot is necessary to get noticed and to get work.
The fall is traditionally family portrait season. The autumn colors really enhance family portraits and the cooler temperatures are a plus over the summer heat and humidity. Sarah and Aaron along with their children Peter and Holly met us at Oak Grove Lake Park in Chesapeake. This is a very popular location evidenced by the number of other photographers working there.
