Lindsey – Model Portfolio Photography
Any portrait shoot, especially one for a model’s portfolio, is a collaboration between the subject and the photographer. In larger shoots, others may contribute as well such as a hair and makeup artist, stylist, agent, or art director. In this case, Lindsey had an idea of the type of images she wanted. She created a Pinterest mood board so that she could share images similar to the style she was looking for. We agreed on two separate sessions. The first would be in our studio. These images would be dark and moody, including some props like a black fedora and a Japanese sword. Lindsey has a black belt in Karate, receiving the sword with her black belt.
Our next shoot was to be in an edgy, urban environment. We began in an alley in downtown Norfolk. This alley really has a lot of character. Lindsey really nailed the look that matched the environment. At sunset, we worked along the harbor just a few blocks from the alley. These images took on more of a fashion feel with Lindsey losing the leather jacket and sunglasses.
Finally, after dark, we went to a parking garage in the Town Center area of Virginia Beach. Despite the long warm evening shoot, Lindsey maintained her glamorous look through out. Working together, Lindsey and I created some outstanding images. Lindsey will be attending George Mason University in the fall. We wish her well and hope we can work together again in the near future.
